ABS Sports Fest [090213-14]
Mood: Pissed off
A week had passed. February, 13 2009, the SSA San Fernando attended the 2nd Students’ Association of Benedictine Schools Sports Festival. A total of five schools participated on the said sports fest. They are SSC-Manila, SSC-Westgrove, SSA-Marikina, SSA-San Fernando and HFA-Angeles City.
Our first game was against SSC-Manila Basketball team. We had a nice game though we lost it. The second game was against SSA-Marikina. We also lost this game. And the last game of the day was played against SSC-Westgrove. They defeated us, unfortunately.
That was a tough day. But night came, I was a bit excited about the solidarity night. Each school was grouped into five by counting off. After, we were asked to stay with our group with the other schools. I counted 5 so, I belonged to group 5.Every school was tasked to present a simple game and I won with my group with the SSA-Marikina’s game. We had Skittles as prize. We had also a simple snack. After each time that a school presented a game, they also present a dance. Remember that we had our dance practice last foundation days? That was for the solidarity night. The basketball, volleyball, badminton and the swimming team of our school presented a remix of dances. That night was a lot of fun!
Second day came. We are to face HFA for our last game. We needed to win the game to have the 4th place at least. And thank God, we made it! We defeated HFA.
Awarding time followed after the games. SSC-Manila declared champions for the second time. They were also the champions of the first ABS Sports Fest. Though we didn’t make it, it was a great experience for me. This was my first time to be part of the said sports fest. This is a memorable one to take a part on it because it is only that ABS Sports Fest is held every two years.
Our efforts were not wasted. I believe that we put our 100% in our games. But I knew that it was not enough to defeat the unbeatable SSC-Manila. But I was happy with the outcome.
I will remember forever this chance for me to be a part of an event like this.

This Week’s Stuff [090201-07]
Mood: Tired and Sleepy
Feb 01- Nothing interesting happened. I’m lazy to have another week of school. T_T
Feb 02- It’s the last day of my friend, Jemboi, being a a lady of sweet 16! And we started teasing her! lol
Feb 03- It’s Jemboi Ahjuuma’s Birthday! She is 17! Hooray for the happy 17 years! ^^ Jemboi treat us recess. Thanks for that! Love you Jemboi! And it’s Kyuhyun Oppa’s Birthday too!
Feb 04- Though it is a day late, we blew birthday cupcakes for Jemboi and Kyuhyun! Jemboi’s cupcake had a yellow candle and Kyuhyun’s cupcake had blue candle! I wish them another fruitful year!
Feb 05- This is a killing day! I slept late finishing our research paper in Filipino! Grrr.. And I thought it’s also the deadline for our investigatory project’s technical paper.
Feb 06- All time cramming day! Kinol thought I didn’t send the finished technical paper to her. But it’s alright. Thanks to the almost useless computer section in our library. hehe.
I need to keep my composure, after all, it’s my second hubby, Yunho oppa’s birthday!
Feb 07- This is the day I almost met death! *exaggerating* We had Saturday make-up classes but I didn’t attend my regular classes because we had our basketball training and that almost killed me! Thanks God, I survived it!
At recess time, we blew a birthday cupcake for Yunho. It had a pink candle. I blew the candle since they knew I love Yunho much!
Sum up: This had been a killer week (as being referred to as by MJ). lola

The Lovely lOralOvah Day!

It is someone’s special day. She turned 16! But again, I’m still a sister to her. I am glad and blessed to know her, to meet her in the walk of my life.
It was November. I clearly remember. She buzzed me at yahoo messenger. She took a concerned action. She saw my status that said that I am anxious and a bit worried. She gave me encouragement even if we don’t know each other or even talked to each other. That was the first time.
The second time was at Sapphire Pearls forum. There is a game there called, ‘I want to know more about you’ and in that game, we had a little lengthy conversation. That was the time I felt friendly towards her. She asked for my number and without hesitation, I gladly gave it to my new found friend.
The third time. She send me ans sms even if I am subscribed to a different cellphone network. And I replied to her even if that’s the case. I found it great to meet new friends having the same interest. After that first sms, we didn’t miss to send each other sms even if we don’t reply to each other’s sms. It is enough for us to greet each other good morning and wish each other a good luck. And with my desire to not burden her with load matters, I even use my parents’ phone to get in touch with her.
When she said that she’ll buy another sim, I decided to buy also so that it will be more convenient for us to contact each other.
I feel trusted when she tells her thoughts and feelings to me. I am grateful for that.
When she has load, she calls me.
She’s a sweet and thoughtful friend. I consider her as a virtual best friend since we didn’t meet personally yet. But we are planning to meet up and I can’t wait for that!
Now she tuned a year older, I am thankful to the Almighty for sending such an angel who can be my confidante. I know she will travel a long way and I hope to be with her on her journey.
Remember my friend, I love you! We love you, I and Dearie or your Kambal. We love you, I and Soulmate or your Dear. Thank you for all! We are always here for you. At your back, cheering and supporting you!

Student-Teacher’s Day [090129-30]
Mood: Tired
It had been a busy two day activity for me. Well, I applied to be a stdent-teacher substitute for Science I. I had to teach three year one classes (Deborah, Esther and Sarah).
Wednesday [0910128]
I felt less excited about this activity. I don’t know why but suddenly I am feeling lazy to stand up in front of a class and discuss about Energy. (I think my feelings and the lesson that I taught is ironic XD)
Thursday [090129]
After a 5 day break, I went to school dressed a little formal to fit my work for the day. But still, I am not feeling enthusiastic about the activity. I’m sleepy to face 3 classes but then I have no choice but face the whole day. I just met two classes (Sarah and Deborah) since we had a program for our teachers. All went smoothly that day.
After a day of teaching, I attended our basketball training as a preparation for ABS Sports Fest. It was really tiring! But miraculously, our coach was less strict. (I wonder if he appreciated the program that’s why he’s less strict…)
Friday [090130]
I’m still tired from my Thursday’s activities and always sleepy. (Pearly call me owl Hazel and sleepy head) I had a first period class which is I-Deborah. The discussion went plain and normal. And at recess time, I fetch my friend (I treat her my best friend) at our classroom since my other buddy is out of the school to attend an event and 4 of us (we are 6 in our circle) are student-teachers so she is left alone. We had our recess at the same time. After recess, I had a class in I-Esther (thanks for the flower ^^). And at my vacant period, I slept. And at lunch time it was my friend’s turn to fetch me at the library (the library served as our faculty room) and had our lunch. And after lunch, I had double period at I-Sarah. I was surprised that Thursday to found out that I’ll have a deadly two periods at one class! But that 2 period class was the most enjoyed period for me. The students of I-Sarah are really friendly and approachable. And now, some of the members of the class send me a sms this evening and I find that really friendly ^^. And when the activity period came, I stayed with my club (Scieartech Movement) and watched ‘Titanic, the Untold Stories’. We did not finish it but I badly want to complete watching it! It kicked out the curiosity inside me. And after, for the first time, I am looking forward to our basketball practice XD. But I forgot to bring socks! But then, I found out that we won’t have training today. So I just rode in our car pool. And for what I felt like decades, I ate at KFC lol.
The day is the same as the first day. It was tiring but I enjoyed the second more than the first day. Now, I don’t regreat filling an application to be a student-teacher. It is my last year in High School so this was a best memory for me! Thanks to everybody who made it a treasure!
**And there is also one thing that touched me this day! This is what happened:
Recess Time~
MJ: Emo Kid daw ako T T (They tagged me as an emo kid T T)
ME: Bakit? (why?)
MJ: Wala kayo, mag-isa lng ako kahit dun sa row namin. (You’re not there. I am alone even in our row.)
ME: Ah..
MJ: Tapos lumipat ako ng lugar, dun sa lugar ni Milky. Eh yung upuan moh nandun. Nakita ako may Siwon. Lalo tuloy ako nalungkot. (Then I transfer to Milky’s place. Your arm chair is at Milky’s place. I saw that there is a Siwon. Then I got gloomier.)
ME: Bakit? (why?)
MJ: Kasi upuan mo yun. T T (Because that’s your chair)
(These are not the precise things that we said but most likely they are like these.)
>>At that conversation. I felt that I am really important to my buddy. She missed me or us even if we just don’t met her or be with her for two school days. That moved me. I love you man!

Star Gazing [090116]
Mood: Calm (My shock faded. ^^)
This was my third year experiencing the Star Gazing. Our Star Gazing Activity was headed by Mr. Edmundo Rosales. I always enjoy being a part of it. And every year, I always learn new things. On my first year, I was introduced to different constellations like the famous Orion. On my second year, I was taught how to distinguish a planet, star and a satellite. And on my third year, I learned that:
- There will be a solar eclipse on July 22nd. It will be a partial eclipse here in the Philippines and the total solar eclipse will be experienced in China. This will be the longest solar eclipse in the century. It will last more than five minutes.
- Lat Sunday [090111] the closest moon this year was seen. It is 14 times closer and 30 times brighter.
- And what amazed me is that lightning is a natural ozone gas producer. So that made me think that lightnings are good once in awhile. Agree?
- 2010: The International Space Station (ISS) will be completed and will be the 3rd brightest object in the night sky.
And what excited me was I saw Cassiopeia! It is now my favorite constellation together with Orion. And my favorite stars are the Polaris or North Star and Sirius. Sirius is the brightest visible star in the night sky.
I enjoyed this activity so much! I wish to be a part of another Star Gazing Activity!

Just This Day
Mood: Tired
I woke up at 9:30 am and Rosely messaged me that she passed the ACET. So, I was intrigued with my ACET result. I immediately opened the computer and visited the ADMU website and I saw that I am waitlisted. Waitlisted is good for me since I am not expecting to pass it. Health Science is my first option of course. I am also glad knowing that many of my classmates passed the ACET too! Then, I got ready for the day’s basketball game in U.A. The game started but we lost it. But nevertheless, I know we did our best. I met new friends today form a text clan, KPH [Korean Pop Haven]. I found my soulmate today. She’s not the one that I am in love with but a new friend. She’s HEHE. She’s Joan. At first, she wanted to call me sis but I refused since I alreday call Lora, sis, so I suggested soulmate ~keke. I enjoyed the text clan. I hope in meeting new friends. I miss my sis! We exchanged sms but it’s not enough that I miss her. But I met Dearie today and I am really glad about it.^^
Today was indeed tiring, blessed and great!

First Day of Class in ’09 [090107]
Mood: Rejoicing!
Yesterday, January 07, was the first dya of class in 2009 after a long Christmas break! It was a lousy day because I was sleepy the entire day! Maybe because I am used to late sleeping and long hours of sleep due to the vacation.
I was awaken by my phone’s alarm by 5 am. I had no the energy to get up yet but I have no choice and I want to start the first day of class in this new year to be alright. The first hour of our school day was a bit stressful. Our class was assigned to lead the moring praise the whole week. And as a reflection, we did reader’s theater. I don’t know if I felt nervous because I can’t breathe! But thank God, it went well.
On that day, our term test results were out! The results…they suck! The only test that I think I did good is in Economics, the others… I don’t feel like talking about them. T T
And speaking of test results. My classmates and I are anxious about the results of the college entrance exams because they will come out this week! And we worry a lot about our future. ~keke
From all that worries and a bit bad day, there’s still a happy thing that happened. MJ [a friend] and I, received pencilcases as gifts last Chrismas. The pencilcases are shaped or looked like stuff animals. MJ’s is a dog and mine is a tiger. And the fun part is, we gave them names! We named them after DBSK’s dogs. ^^ We are an avid fan of DBSK, that’s why. lol Her dog pencilcase name is Xiahki, Junsu’s dog and my tiger’s name is Harang, after Yoochun’s pet. We’re addict neh? hehe.
And yes! We will study HTML in our last term in our Computer subject! I am excited for that! And during our discussion, our teacher asked me to show everyone my blog, my friend volunteered my blog. And they all saw it! I’m a bit shy about it. ~keke Fortunately, the MMP is not working well so they just saw it for a little time.
I was not able to attend our basketball training because I was not informed about it. T T And I was worried about today’s game because that’s a very crucial game for our team. When we lose that game, we are doomed! No chance for a championship. T_____T
Yesterday was a mixed up of happy things and a bit stressful ones. But I think, it was a great day being in school again after 20 days…?
**We won today’s game and we will play a sudden death on Saturday. Wish us luck. ^^

Goodbye 2008
Mood: Thankful and Looking Forward
Many things happened last year. And there are a million things to be thankful for the past year. Only hours passed when I bid goodbye to 2008. I’ll share the things that marked my year:
- Broadband Connection- At last! Last May, when my mom decided to upgrade our dial-up connection to a broadband. Having broadband, I can watch videos and play songs without waiting for hours to buff!
- Senior Year- June 2008, I entered my last year in high school, my last year in SSA.
- Entrance Exams- I took four College entrance exams. This includes the exams in UP, UST, DLSU and ADMU. Well, in the four exams, the DLSU’s exam was the most difficult!
- Final Dance- I had my last dance with 4Courage last October in our 2008 Intramural. We won the first place! This had been a hard work for us but it paid off.
- Hoops and Balls- I became a part of the basketball varsity and met new friend who are my team mates. I also became the basketball team captain of our team in the intramural.
- Inter-Class Debate- I was chosen by my classmates to be a member of the representing team of our class in the inter-class debate team. Unfortunately, we only got the 2nd place. But this was a great experience for me. ^^
- Outbound Trip- Last November 07, we had a one of kind field trip. Instead of visiting the museums, planetariums and EK, we went nature tripping. We visited Mt. Banahaw Complex 1. We went hiking, swimming and we entered Husgado cave with great difficulty. Another thing that adds to the event was we met four kuyas who made the trip enjoyable. They are Kuya Paoji, Kuya Dolph, Kuya Vince and Kuya Jonelle. Thank you Kuyas!
- The Retreat- We had this changing retreat last November 28-30. This had been a memorable outing for the 4Courage.
- In Love- I’m in love not with the opposite sex but to J-pop and K-pop! I became a HUGE fan of J-pop and K-pop this year even if I knew them for years. But it is last year that I really like J-pop and K-pop. And this is this year that I knew and really love KAT-TUN, NeWs, Super Junior and DBSK. And now I think I’m loving Big Bang, Wonder Girls, Shinee, SS501, BoA and Utada Hikaru!
- Netizen- As a result of having broadband connection, I became a certified Netizen! I spend hours in the computer surfing the net. I learn to love blogging (That’s why I have three blogs that I moderate or contribute. They are the sapphirepearls, batangkpoplover and deariezel.). I also liked reading fanfics (especially YunJae^^). I also join forums.
- Meeting Online Buddies- Because of my recent fandom, I met a lot of people online. They have been a great biddies to me online. Even if we didn’t meet personally, we were bound by our same interest. I am thankful for this. I met these friends at the forum, facebook and blog. The net had been a good place to find new friends for me. (special mention: Debbie unni)
- My Best Online Buddies- For the hundreds of persons that I met online, there are persons which I consider my best friends online. They are Lora and Yvonne. It have been only for months but I learned to treasure them. I hope in mmeeting them someday. I wish this could happen.
My 2008 will not be colorful without these memories. I will treasure them forever. As I say Hello to 2009, I am keeping these memories deep in my heart and always remember them everyday. I hope 2009 will also be a great year for me.
